An unidentified 50-year old man has been arrested for throwing two cats out a 4th floor window at the Josephinum Apartments.
The 18-month old pregnant cat named Paige, died at a veterinary hospital Friday morning from her injuries. The cat was thrown about 40 feet onto a concrete sidewalk late Thursday afternoon.
The second cat an 18-month old male was seen running away from the scene late Thursday.
Manager of the Josephinum Apartments, Sandra Taschner, said "This is a horrible thing that has happened. There was a lot of drinking going on, and it just got out of control."
Police confirm the man who may have been drinking heavily had no criminal record. He was released on his own recognizance.
The King County deputy prosecutor Anthony Lowe said he will file felony first-degree animal cruelty charges against the man within the next few days.
The man was at the apartment to celebrate a birthday. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
