Cypress Foods left more than 1 million hens starve or be euthanized at farms in FL and GA after filing bankruptcy. Officials estimated chickens had water but were left without feed for 10 to 15 days while Cypress stopped operating due to bankruptcy proceedings.
30,000 chickens starved after their feed was cut off 170,000 were left in such poor condition they had to be euthanized
Animal rights activists stormed the Cypress Foods facility and made off with about 180 chickens.
