Michael Patrick Thornberg, 30, of Largo has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty for throwing a kitten at a woman. The kitten bounced off the woman and hit a wall.

Thornberg had been arguing with the woman about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when he threw the kitten. When the kitten hit the floor, it began to twitch and died before the woman could get medical attention.

Thornberg is also charged with domestic battery because the kitten scratched the woman's stomach when the kitten was thrown at her.

He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail without bail.
