The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for fatally shooting a family�s pet Labrador Retriever earlier this month.

Claire Donovan�s yellow Labrador Retriever �Harley� was fatally shot while playing outside the Jackson, Georgia home where she and her family were visiting on the morning of June 10, 2005.  A deputy from nearby Jasper County Sheriff�s office recovered Harley�s body on Wednesday, June 15 at a boat ramp near Lloyd Shoals Park, approximately two miles from where the family believes the shooting took place.  In addition to The HSUS reward, the family is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting.  Butts County Sheriff�s detectives are investigating the case.  In Georgia, felony animal cruelty carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.
