Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Peter James Senter
Deacon, a 4-month-old black and white mixed shepherd puppy, reportedly got into the trash, knocked it over, tore open the plastic garbage bags and had strewn the contents around the house before Peter Senter came home shortly before midnight on May 5. Senter allegedly beat the dog, breaking a thigh bone and causing other injuries. Police responded when a neighbor called.
Senter entered into a plea agreement and has to pay $2,331.76 in restitution, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended for 6 months. A second charge was not prosecuted. References- Lawrence Eagle Tribune - June 24, 2005
