Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Name Undisclosed
A 17-year old teen has been booked on misdemeanor animal cruelty and for discharging a firearm in the city limits. Arrest was from an incident which occured Monday morning near 89th Street and Broadmoor Avenue.
The unidentified teen's mother was apologetic and said the family will pay the owner back for the cost of the cat's medical treatment.
Paul Frazier, the cat's owner, said his wife took the cat to the veterinarian. The veterinarian bill might be $2,000 because the cat's jaw was shattered.
Frazier said he found a shell casing about 75 yards from his house. Neighbors found bullet holes in two or three hours in the area.
Frazier said he later saw a car stopped near a neighbor's house with the driver sticking a rifle with a scope out of the car's window.
Frazier provided the police with a description of the car and the license plate number of another car he later saw in the neighborhood with some of the same occupants.
Police arrested the Westside High School student and Frazier met with the teen's mother. The Westside Community School spokeswoman said the school is looking into the incident and the student could face discipinary action. References- Omaha World-Herald - Mar 13, 2002
