Brant Larson, 26, accused of shooting his neighbor's cat in the head with a crossbow on New Year's Eve.

When police searched Larson's apartment in January looking for the crossbow that was used to shoot Lola McEachin's cat they discovered a crossbow, marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Larson was arrested on charges of drug possession and animal cruelty and released on bond.

Larson was again arrested after police said he set off a training grenade to scare his ex-girlfriend who was sleeping in the apartment below his. The blast didn't do a lot of damage to the building.

Mark Walton an investigator with the police said they found three more live grenades in a closet when they searched his apartment on Sunday. It is believed he stole the grenades when he was in the Army.

Walton said, "They are used in military training exercises. They actually do contain illegal explosives that can cause severe injuries."

Larson now faces additional charges of possessing a destructive device, discharging an explosive device and breach of the peace.

He is being evicted from his apartment. His landlord said "He was a model tenant up until three months ago. I am shocked at what happened this weekend."

Larson allegedly broke into his downstairs neighbor's apartment and found his ex-girlfriend asleep on the couch with another man. Larson went back into his apartment and got a grenade. He decided to blow himself up and changed his mind at the last minute.

Larson said he dropped the grenade from his upstairs apartment and it fell in front of the neighbor's door. A witness reported he saw Larson discharge the grenade at ground level and then speed away in his truck.
