Three Wood County teens face animal cruelty charges for tying a dog to the back of a car, dragging, and killing it. The incident took place in Weston, Ohio.

The Conrad family is devastated about what happened to their beloved shihtzu and hope to see the three people involved pay for their crime. Toby was part of the Conrad family for ten years. One night in May, Wood County Sheriff's deputies say three Weston teens took Toby right out of the Conrad's front yard. "My daughter let him out at 8:00 p.m. and by 9:45 p.m. the Sheriff had brought him back to the house dead," said Tom Conrad.

Deputies say the teens drove to Kiel Road just outside of town. They allegedly tied a piece of wire to the dog's collar and then dragged it behind a car. At one point, we're told, they ran over the dog with the car. "Through the humane society they say that animal cruelty leads to spousal abuse, child abuse. I hope they realize that what they've done is wrong," said Lisa Conrad.

"Everybody in town knew that dog. He never barked at anybody. Everybody knew Toby. It's just wrong what these kids did," said Tom Conrad.

Right now, deputies say, charges are pending against the three teens.
