Police are searching for a Charleston-area man who is suspected of animal cruelty.
John F. Hively, 37, of 2513 Larwood Drive allegedly baited his neighbor�s four dogs to swallow razorblades on June 9, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Hively�s neighbor let his dogs in the house, but noticed they were bleeding from their mouths. When the neighbor checked around the fence, he found 25 razor blades, some with meat on them, the complaint stated.
All four dogs had cuts in their mouths, and an X-ray revealed that one dog had a razorblade in its stomach, the complaint stated.
Deputies allegedly found razorblades with meat on them and rubber gloves with meat on them in Hively�s trash, the complaint stated.
