The SPCA requests anyone with information about the cat that was stomped to death Monday night by the manager of a Dartmouth apartment building to please call them at 1-888-703-7722.

A woman said she saw the man kick and stomp the animal at a Church Drive apartment after it "attacked" him.

The witness also said a building security guard shined a light on the scene to aid the man's violent attack.

Judith Gass, president ofthe Nova Scotia SPCA, said special constables will be on the scene "to try and get some information."

"We will be actively working on this. These are cases we don't want to let slip through the cracks because we want people to know that if they do this type of thing, there are consequences.
