Two dead cats were found hanging in an airport elevator by a passenger.

The bodies were strung up by their front paws inside an elevator in Terminal 3 at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Animal Control and the Boward Sheriff's Office were called to investigate the incident around 4:00 PM on Dec 29. The cats were found hanging from the hand rail in the elevator near the US Airways ticket counter. Both the front paws and back paws of each cat had been tied together.

It had not been determined how the cats died. The sheriff's office is investigating.
