Teens allow dog to maul kitten to death

A kitten was mauled and killed by a teen's dog. All three teens have been arrested on complaints of animal cruelty.

The incident occurred on the 1300 block of SW 32 where about ten people were screaming a 4-month old kitten had been mauled by a dog. Witnesses said a 16-year old girl was walking the dog when an 18-year old boy and a 15-year old boy kicked the kitten near the dog. The girl gave the dog enough slack on the lead to reach the kitten so it could maul the kitten to death.

The witnesses said the teens all laughed as the kitten was being mauled to death by the dog.

Johnny M. Lott, 18, has been arrested on a complaint of inhaling a harmful substance and cruelty to an animal. He said he was inhaling carburetor fluid.

The 16-year old girl and the 15-year old boy were arrested on cruelty to animal complaint. Their names were not released.

The juveniles were taken to a juvenile detention shelter.
