Kitten's feet burned with chemicals Columbus, OH (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Sep 5, 2000 County: Franklin
Disposition: Open
Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A three-month old stray kitten was found with chemical burns on all four feet. The kitten has been named Danger by his rescuers. He was found on a family's Bartham Avenue porch on Tuesday night. He had severe chemical burns on all four paws, was meowing loudly and couldn't walk.
The veterinarian said it was a case of severe animal abuse. Meg Baho, veterinarian at Riverside Drive Veterinary Hospital said, "If he had walked through something, most of the iniury would be on the bottom pads. He was splashed with some kind of caustic liquid."
The burns went all the way through to the tendors. "It's extremely painful, of course. All four paws are extremely infected."
Danger's recovery is expected to take about a month. He will be available for adoption after his full recovery.
Information on adoption of Danger can be obtained by calling the Beechwold Veterinary Hospital at 614 268-8666.
