Dog's ear cut off Phenix City, AL (US)Incident Date: Monday, May 16, 2005 County: Russell
Disposition: Open
Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
Phenix City Animal Control picked a dog up on May 16, about two blocks from its 12th Street shelter. The dog is about three months old and is a bulldog mix, Rodney Wolfinger, Phenix City's chief Animal Control officer, said. He estimates the ear was cut off about three or four weeks ago.
The dog is missing its left ear.
"In my opinion, some fool wanted to clip its ears like some people do with pit bulldogs," said Wolfinger. "They did a terrible job on one ear and messed him up. They just put him out so they didn't have to worry with him."
"It is almost healed," Wolfinger said.
It didn't take them long to name the dog.
"We are calling him Innee," Wolfinger said.
The reason?
"It has a lot of n's and e's," Wolfinger said. "We couldn't call him No Ear." If you have information on this case, please contact: Phenix City Animal Control
