A Lafayette parish man is facing animal-cruelty charges today. Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said that Animal Control officers were alerted to a home on Ear line Drive concerning a report of animal neglect.

When they got there, Leger says, officers found an Irish Setter so badly malnourished and flea-bitten, it had to be euthanized.

Arrested was Scott Miguez, identified as the dog's owner. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail.
