The Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a $500 reward that will help police find and convict the person who mutilated a 12-week old kitten before throwing it in a spinning clothes dryer last month.
The remains of the kitten called Tiny was found by the toddler who owned him. The body was found in the laundry room shared by six familieis living in a Boylston Street apartment building.
Scott Giacoppo, an officer with the MA Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said, "What we're trying to do is identify all the individuals who were there and had access to the laundry room. It's our hope that whoever did this bragged about it to someone."
If convicted, the person who killed the kitten could be sentenced up to five years in prison for felony animal abuse.
Barbara Castleman, MSPCA spokeswoman, said "Anyone who would do that to an innocent kitten is a threat to people and should be off the streets." If you have information on this case, please contact: MA Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
