Beth Miller, 28, of Columbia Street, Hudson, was arrested by society investigators for abandoning three adult cats and eight kittens on the side of Tischauser Road in Claverack. Miller was the passenger in a car at the time, Perez said.

She faces 11 counts of animal abandonment and is scheduled to be arraigned in Claverack Town Court on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.

All of the abandoned animals were located and taken to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society Shelter, where they were provided with food, water, shelter and medical attention.

They will likely be available for adoption, although Ron Perez, director of the law enforcement division, said the original owners could post bonds if they wished to take the animals back.
