Cat thrown off bridge into river

Three girls were seen by two fisherman dropping what they thought was a log into the Root River, until they saw movement.

Bonnie Chaussee, office manager of Countryside Humane Society said, "They just chucked him over the bridge into the river. Because he is so friendly, they probably just picked him up and said, 'Let's see if this kitty can swim.'"

The fisherman picked the cat up out of the water and tried to catch the girls who threw him off the bridge, but they weren't able to catch them.

The cat has been given the name "Moses" by the humane society.

Moses is said to be doing very well. The humane society has multiple adoption applications on him and they are working to find the right home for him.

Moses is about one year old, a grey stripped tiger cat with very large yellow eyes and a good disposition.
