Marcel Iezzi, 27, (DOB 11-13-67) had felony charges filed against him on Jan 25, 1995 by the District Attorney's office for beating a cat to death with hammer after it got into his home.

Iezzi is charged with one each of felony cruelty to animals and threatening a witness to the Jan 20 incident in the 800 block of North Poinsettia Avenue, Hollywood.

Deputy District Attorney David Traum said the young black cat was believed to belong to homeless person, it got into the defendant's home and confronted the defendant's dog. The cat ran out of the home, the defendant caught up with the cat, and it was beaten to death with a hammer.

A witness to the brutal beating reported it to the police. The count alleging witness threatening stemmed from the neighbor woman's telling the defendant she had called the police.
