Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A year-old collie-German shepherd mix was found severely beaten and wandering around a Wildwood apartment compelx. She has been named "Bebe" by her rescuers.
A couple rescued the dog when she approached them while they were walking their dog at an apartment complex in Wildwood. "When the woman bent down to pet the dog, her hand came up with blood all over it."
They took the injured dog to an emergency animal clinic. She did not have any collar or identification on her. Workers at the animal clinic called Stray Rescue, the only no-kill animal shelter in the city of St Louis.
The director of the Stray Rescue of St Louis, Randy Grim, said "There are too many wounds to count." She was treated for bruises and what could be burns. Some of the wounds appeared to be fresh and some days or weeks old.
Grim hopes putting the spotlight on "Bebe" will help catch the person or persons who abused her.
The veterinarians expect "Bebe" to fully recover and should be available for adoption through Stray Rescue. Bebe is said to be very sweet and social.
