Authorities in Greensboro are investigating a series of dog thefts. The latest theft occurred on March 1 in the Byers Road area, as the larceny of a female pit bull was reported. Four days later, the victim discovered the dog lying beside the residence. The animal appeared to have been involved in a dog fight and was dead, police said in a statement.
In the past few months, dog larcenies have occurred on Woodside, Tucker, Textile, Foushee, Holt and Waugh streets, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the dog larcenies is asked to call (336) 373-1000. CrimeStoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
