A 60-year-old Boulder, Colo., man is accused of stabbing his neighbor's dog, breaking a car window and sending threatening notes to pet owners in his subdivision. Douglas Clark faces charges of animal cruelty, felony criminal mischief and harassment/stalking. He lives in the Pine Brook Hills neighborhood.

Clark turned himself in at the Boulder County jail in Jan 2005 and bonded out.

He's accused of stabbing a neighbor's 4-year-old German Shepherd in the hip in December 2004. The dog survived the attack.

On the same day the dog was stabbed, a vehicle parked on the dog owner's property had its window smashed.

The same neighbor received an anonymous note two days later, threatening his dog. The note said in part, "today will be the LAST day your dog will bark."

Sheriff's deputies found another neighbor had received two similar notes within the prior three months, threatening their dog for barking. Their dog is also a German shepherd.

Investigators said they had physical evidence that led them to believe Clark was involved in both incidents.
