County: Prince GeorgesDisposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Teresa M. Wilds
Wilds was convicted of animal cruelty in 2000 in the Administrative Court of Prince Georges County MD (case #9901329). In May 1999 AKC Director of Investigation and Inspection Field Staff, William Hughes wrote to the Prince George's County Humane Society requesting that they look into the conditions at the home of Teresa Wilds because the AKC inspector had found "poor sanitary and/or health conditions" upon inspection.
She was suspended from the Doberman Pinscher Club of America
Wilds received a 10 year suspension effective August 7, 2000 and was fined $2000 from the AKC based on conduct considered prejudicial to the best interests of purebred dogs in connection with the convictions in Administrative Court of Prince Georges County MD.
On January 12, 2000 after numerous requests by Animal Control for her to correct the conditions, a search warrant was issued and 26 animals were seized from her home in Hyattsville, Md. (18 dogs, 6 cats & 2 kittens).

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
