Please vote on whether or not you feel the sentence in this case was appropriate for the crime. (Be sure to read the entire case and sentencing before voting.)

weak sentence = one star
strong sentence = 5 stars

more information on voting

When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.

Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "People’s Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isn’t enough.

Defendant/Suspect: Kristen Grace

Case Updates: 2 update(s) available

The Nebraska Humane Society rescued 25 cats from a west Omaha home and is now looking for the person who last lived there. A tip led the humane society to get a search warrant for the home at 15439 Farnam Circle on Feb 14. The cat rescue continued into Tuesday evening, to make sure any hidden cats were found. The person who lived there moved out and does not own the home, said Pam Wiese, a spokeswoman for the humane society. No one else was living there.

The house was found in filthy condition with overflowing litter pans and feces all over the floor. The smell of ammonia was detectable from the outside.

The cats are not exhibiting life-threatening injuries, but they will have to wait a few days before they can be examined so they can calm down. The owner of the cats faces possible charges of animal cruelty and other misdemeanor charges, Wiese said.

One dead cat was also found at the home.
