Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Doctors are making a heartfelt attempt to save the life of a 6-month-old Chihuahua puppy found close to death in a dumpster behind a Brooklyn Con Edison plant. The two-pound dog named Hope was taken to the New York City Animal Care & Control Shelter where it was determined that she had fluid on the brain and that her skull never properly closed.

Her caretakers say both problems could have been caused by a skull fracture.

There are only a handful of surgeons that can perform the necessary surgery.

The Long Island Veterinary Specialists has set up a fund to raise the necessary money for the procedure.

If you'd like to donate, checks should be written out to VSSLI, with "Hope's Fund" written in the memo line.

Donations can be mailed to the Long Island Veterinary Specialists at the following address:

Hope's Fund 163 South Service Road Plainview, NY 11803

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
