Man beats girlfriend's puppy to death

Wayne Kephart, 35, of Nichols has been accused of beating his girlfriend's puppy to death because he was angry at the woman.

He faces felony animal cruelty charges.

Sheriff's deputies reported Kephart appeared to be intoxicated when he was arrested.

Kephart was charged with animal cruelty and jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail.
