Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A yellow Labrador retriever and a black Laborador retriever were both shot while in the family's yard. The black Lab, Casey, died as a result of the shooting. Sophie, the yellow Lab, is expected to survive.
Both of the dogs were show dogs and a very important part of the family. No one knows why the two dogs were shot. The vet removed .22-caliber bullets from both of the dogs.
Eight year old Meagan Arnold is battling cancer and Sophie has been by her side. Megan's 10-year old brother, Jordan, owned the black Lab that was shot and killed.
Megan routinely undergoes chemotherapy. Mrs Arnold said, "She's worried she's going to lose her dog." My daughter, with everything she's dealing with, is kind of an introvert. Her dog means everything to her."
The family moved from Virginia Beach to Buckhorn Drive in Suffolk so the children and the dogs would have more room. No one had complained about their dogs.
The Arnold family is offering a reward. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering $500 for information leading to a conviction.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
