Three teenagers have been arrested on charges of cruelty to animals. Officials said they were shooting from a vehicle and killed 15 dogs south of Muskogee. The teens were from nearby Warner. Darrin Smith, Muskogee County chief deputy said "They weren't drunk. They weren't taking any drugs. They were using bad judgment."
The teens allegedly shot one dog in Keefeton after leaving school in Warner on the way to Muskogee. The boys shot another dog in Keefeton on the way back. One of the boys was dropped off and the other two boys drove along dirt roads and continued the killing spree, the authorities allege. The shooters used a .22-caliber rifle.
There were fifteen people who called to report their dogs had been killed. A resident's license tag description led the authorities to the teens. The three teens have been released from jail on $7,500 bond each. References- Dallas Morning News - Apr 29, 2001
