A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 15 days in jail for shooting a woman's pet dog and leaving behind a spent shotgun shell with the dog's name on it. Jason D. Henderson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor animal cruelty on Feb 8, 2005. He was sentenced to the jail time and one year of probation.

Henderson was arrested last August after 53-year-old Rosie Shepard accused the man of threatening to shoot her dog Shadow, then actually doing it. 

A police report said Henderson (quote) placed the empty shotgun shell with the dog's name written on it onto a coffee table and left."
