A 20-year-old Darlington man was arrested on Feb 8 on charges of animal cruelty and petit larceny, Darlington County Detention Center bookings reports show. Wayne Eugene Grigsby Jr. of Woodhaven Drive killed his friend�s dog and left the animal in the trunk of his car, according to Darlington police.

Officers said that friend might have been involved in a dogfighting ring and previously fought his dog with Grigsby�s.
