A Waverly man was arrested Feb 1 for kicking his 3-month-old puppy to death. Christopher G. Thompson, 32, of Fulton Street, Waverly, was arrested for aggravated cruelty to animals, the shelter reported.

According to the Stray Haven Humane Society, Thompson kicked the puppy to death Sunday, Jan. 30, after it made a mess in the house. Thompson was arraigned before Village of Waverly Court Justice Koons, and posted bail. He will report back at a later date, the shelter said.
