Sheriff's deputies found a 70 lb male husky-German shepherd dead in Chapin area about 1:00 p.m. in the 5600 block of Chapin Road, Lakefield Township. Authorities do not know if the dog was set on fire in the Chapin area or dumped there later.

Burn patterns on the dog suggest it was alive, upright and mobile when it was set on fire.
