A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Jan 17 for allegedly slashing a dogs throat. Roger Gregg is in jail on Monday evening for charges of animal cruelty. According to Wes Reynolds, Gregg killed his Boston Terrier, Stoney, with a knife and threw the dog in a creek behind the trailer park where both men live.

Gregg has admitted to police that he had traps set for neighborhood cats, which were walking on his recently painted car. However, he had intended to let the cats go from the traps, according to police.

Police have said they did find a knife in Greggs house when they arrested him.

Gregg could face one to 10 years in jail and $5,000 in fines if convicted.
