Two men are accused of torturing, killing and then eating a neighbor's pet duck. Gail Rames has had pet ducks at her home near Graham for years. Her pride and joy was an exotic duck named Taurus.
She claims there's no doubt in her mind that a neighbor took Taurus.
"He approached my son at the bus stop and said, 'Guess what, we're having duck dinner for supper tonight.' And I noticed Taurus was gone," Rames said.
When Pierce County Sheriff's deputies came to the neighborhood to investigate a vandalism case, the suspects also admitted to torturing the duck.
"They took the feathers off, they hit it with a hammer, they brought a dog in and let a dog attack it," describes Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer. "They finally took it out and killed it. The weird part is they actually made dinner out of it after they did the torture to the animal."
Gail is considering moving from the area: "I'm not going to take a chance of my boys getting beat up or my dogs getting poisoned," Rames says. "We're done."
