King County prosecutors have charged two boys accused of killing a chicken and vandalizing a church in October 2004�in Des Moines.

Prosecutors say the 16-year-old from Kent and 14-year-old from Covington stole a chicken from a neighbor's coop, tortured it to death with a knife and fire and hung it from a cross at the Marcus Whitman Presbyterian Church.

The also are accused of using a stolen fire extinguisher to spray a pentagram design on the outside of the church and burning a Bible.

They are scheduled to be arraigned January sixth on charges of animal cruelty, malicious harassment and theft.
