County: Virginia Beach CityDisposition: Open
Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
On December 26th, a Virginia Beach animal control officer responded to a call on Orangewood Court in the Green Run section of the city. There the officer found a dead eight-month-old Chihuahua (named Neo) with two puncture wounds.
Neo was found dead at Green Run High School. He had two puncture wounds - one on the front of his neck and the other on his right side.
Police say the 20-month-old dog escaped from his home on Orangewood Drive about 5:00 p.m. on December 25th. Friends and family searched for the dog, which was found about midnight. The school is just a few blocks away.
The case is being investigated as a felony animal cruelty case because it appears the dog was stabbed or possibly shot with a pellet gun. If you have information that can help police, call the Crimeline at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
