A two-month old border collie mix was found by the side of the road in Sussex, N.B., by an animal control officer.
Rawley, with a black-and-white face, has won the hearts of many animal lovers in Saint John after his story was printed in the Saint John Times Globe.
Residents have raised $2,000 to send the puppy to the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown where it will receive care second to none in the country.
Pamela Schwartz, at the veterinary college, says it's not clear what actually happened to Rawley. He is deaf in both ears and appears to have a problem with his hind tendon which is slightly displaced.
They are not sure if his injuries were caused by being thrown from a vehicle or whether he was born with these problems. Rawley seems like a healthy, happy puppy.
Work continues in New Brunswick to raise money to help pay his medical bills and find him a permanent home.
