The two-month old mixed breed puppy that was left for dead on a street corner, is recovering. The puppy had a foot-long slash to her throat.
Someone walking by found her and took her to a veterinary clinic.
Veterinarian Kim Nicholas said the cut missed all of the critical areas, such as the carotid artery, windpipe and esophagus.
The injured puppy has been named "Angel" by the veterinary staff because they figured she must have a guardian angel to have survived the slashing.
It's anticipated the puppy will recover and the person who found her has expressed interest in adopting her. References- Associated Press Northwest - Aug 23, 2000
