The 3-year old Siberian husky mix was shot more than 20 times with a BB gun.
Barry Jackson, owner, found his dog hiding under his car, limp and in a state of shock. He originally thought she had been hit by a car. He later found out the dog had been shot several times.
Anderson police and Madison County prosecutors plan to do something about it. "There will definitely be charges," Deputy Prosecutor Steve Koester said.
Koester said there are at least two teenage suspects in the shooting and he has authorized their arrest on preliminary charges. Formal charges of cruelty to an animal will be filed.
Police said they didn't have to go far to find the suspects, they think the shots were fired by a pump-action air rifle from the yard next door.
"We have police runs at their home all the time," said Anderson Police Department Officer Don Jordan, a former community policing officer.
The Northwood Veterinary Hospital said the dog should fully recover. References« Back to Search Results
