County: Prince GeorgeDisposition: Acquitted
Person of Interest: Antonio Fisher
Antonio Fisher, 19, was tried July 26 after being accused of animal cruelty. Fisher was charged for allegedly kicking Ginger, a three-pound Pekinese, 15 feet across the road.
Fisher testified he shoved the dog after she charged him.
Fisher's attorney said if he had kicked the dog, his boots would have severely injured her. The dog was subponeaed to court so the jury could see her. The Assistant Public Defender said, "I think for them to see the dog, and to see the size of the dog, it would tie into my case about it being improbable the dog was kicked 16 feet across the street, and six feet in the air. That was impossible."
The jury took 15 minutes to acquit him of the charge. One member of the jury said there wasn't any evidence that Ginger was hurt.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
