A long-haired dachshund set on fire by a group of boys in Miami-Dade County is recovering. The dog named Chloe by volunteers received over 100 stitches needs a home.

The Tri-County Humane Society President Brooke Roberts said, "She's doing really well. She's amazing."

Roberts said a woman small a small group of boys set fire to the dog. She chased the boys away, then turned the injured dog over to Animal Control and Care. Later, Chloe was turned over to the humane society and they hope to find a home for her.

Animal cruelty is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
