The 5-month old Rottweiler mix puppy named Lazarus that was set on fire is recovering from its injuries.
The puppy suffered third-degree burns on his face and back. Terri Sparks, veterinarian, had to remove two-thirds of his right ear. The puppy was also underweight when he arrived at Coastal Animal Care and Bird Clinic on Eisenhower Drive.
Terri Sparks said he is a wonderful dog responsive and frisky with her two small children.
Police have located the dog's owner but no arrests have been made in the case.
Rachel Seer of Tybee Island was driving on 33rd and Abercorn streets when she saw the dog run out of a house in flames.
