Pit bull drowned after being thrown into a bay in a weighted container. It's the latest in a rash of similar killings in southern New Jersey.
The full grown 50 pound female was placed in a portable dog carrier and weighted down with approximately 20 pounds of rocks and asphalt.
A boat ramp attendant discovered the animal in the water.
"You've got to be pretty twisted to do something like this. This is just terrible," said Mark Pulvino, dog manager of the Humane Society of Ocean City, NJ.
A $500 reward has been offered by the Humane Society for the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible. If you have information on this case, please contact: Humane Society
