more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Puppy kicked, thrown out window to sidewalk Troy, NY (US)Incident Date: Sunday, Apr 30, 2000 County: Rensselaer
Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Anthony Lisboa
Anthony Lisboa, 28, of Troy admitted to kicking 6-month old Princess, a Labrador terrier mix and throwing it out his first floor window onto the sidewalk.
Lisboa was the first person to be sentenced to jail under the state's new animal cruelty law. Buster's Law stiffens the penalties for animal abuse. It was passed last year and was named after a family cat that died in Schenectady after being burned by a teenager in 1997. The new law carries a sentence of up to two years in prison and a fine up to $5,000.
Lisboa was sentenced to one year in jail under the state's Buster Law. He must also pay $400 in veterinary bills for surgery to heal the puppy's broken leg, part of which had to be removed.
The dog is recovering with its new owner. References- Associated Press - June 20, 2000
