A 10-pound chihuahua named Little will have to undergo hours of reconstructive surgery after he was set on fire in Revere.
"It was an outrageous sadistic act of cruelty," said Walter Kilroy, director of law enforcement for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
"We are determined to make every effort we can to find who did this."
Kim Garza said she left Little with friends last week while she moved from her Revere apartment to East Boston. She said her freinds told her that her dog and their Rottweiler had both gotten loose and when they returned, Little was badly burned.
Garza, who then rushed the dog to the Chelsea Animal Clinic for treatment, said she cannot afford to pay for the surgery.
No suspects have been named and the case is under investigation, Kilroy said. References« MA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Suffolk County, MA
