A Plantation couple heartbroken over the death of their dog Buck, are offering a $1,500 reward to help find the people who ran over him.
Al and Margot Herget bought the African Basenji when they moved into Fairway Cove Homes on the southest corner of Broward Boulevard and Nob Hill Road.
They spoiled the red and white pooch with toys and took him everywhere including their offices at A&M Insurance in Sunrise.
Margot Herget was walking the dog on the about 7 PM on March 9 when a car filled with people veered off the road, onto the grass and struck and killed him.
She said the car's lights were off and the driver immediately backed up and sped away.
Christina Tokar, president of the Fairway Cove Homes Association, responded to Margot Herget's screams for help. Buck deid on the way to a nearby veterinarian.
The couple has put up $1,000 and the Fairway Cove Homeowners Association as contributed $500 more toward a reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver.
