Dog starvation
Lisbon, NH (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Oct 31, 1997
County: Grafton

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Brenda Davis

Authorities say they have found the owner of the dog that turned up near starvation on Thanksgiving Day.

It turns out the owner was the woman who brought the dog to the Littleton police station, claiming she'd found it as a stray near the highway.

Brenda Davis, 28, of Lisbon was arrested on a misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals. Davis is to be arraigned March 20 in Littleton District Court. She faces up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.

The dog has survived and is living with a woman who adopted him from the Littleton town shelter.
