Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

A crew of state highway workers saw a car speed up and swerve to hit a fawn on Route 26 between West Eaton and Georgetown in Madison County. The occuptants of the car were laughing as they sped by, said wildlife rehabilitator, Sue Clark, in Erieville, The workers did not get a license plate number.

The workers rescued the wounded animal and dialed 911, and a dispatcher referred them to Clark. Clark took the fawn to Page, who is better equipped to handle wounded deer.

Page said the fawn suffered a broken leg. It spent about 10 days inside a pen on Page's property but then Page euthanized the animal because its internal injuries were much worse than originally feared.
