Someone found a cat in a cardboard box sealed with duct tape near Mesa Drive and Main Street. The cat�s hind legs were tied with nylon rope and it suffered internal injuries when the box was tossed into a 7-foot-deep trash bin, reports said.

The cat had to be euthanized, he said.

The police are urging people to keep their pets inside to keep them from harm, Anslover said. They also hope anyone with information about the pets� owners or the incidents will call animal control at (480) 644-2268.
