Kitten found with mouth glued shut

Mesa police are asking for the public's help in solving a case of animal abuse after someone called animal control on Oct. 7 to say he'd found a brown tabby with its mouth glued shut.

The kitten, about 4 months old, was found near Hibbert and Main Street, dehydrated and having a hard time breathing.

Anslover was able to scrape away some of the glue and a veterinarian used ointment to remove the rest.

The kitten was later adopted by a veterinarian.

The police are urging people to keep their pets inside to keep them from harm, Anslover said. They also hope anyone with information about the pets' owners or the incidents will call animal control at (480) 644-2268.
